About MiSG.app

MiSG.app is a free Michigan felony sentencing guidelines app built by the criminal defense team at Sorin & Pyle, Trial Lawyers in Holland, Michigan.

The tool covers all current felony offenses from MCL 777.11–777.19, with full PRV and OV scoring, habitual offender adjustments, and downloadable PDF calculation summaries. All data is sourced from the 2025 Michigan Sentencing Guidelines Manual published by the Michigan Judicial Institute.

Completed calculations can optionally be saved as a portable case file — including any defendant, court, or rationale notes you've entered — and reopened later to pick up where you left off. Files can be saved encrypted with a passphrase for transit or sharing.

MiSG.app performs automated calculations based on your scoring inputs and publicly available statutory data from the Michigan Sentencing Guidelines Manual. It does not interpret facts, recommend scores, or provide legal advice. Sentencing guidelines are advisory following People v. Lockridge, 498 Mich 358 (2015). Always verify calculations against the current manual.
